Update: North Central's Cardinal Camps may be over, but you can still view the images captured on Instagram @NorthCentralCollege. Simply search #cardinalcamps and enjoy! For background, read the story below.
For the third year, North Central College offers first-year students an opportunity to acclimate to the college experience before the academic year begins through Cardinal Camps. Students choose between the urban, wilderness or Premier Scholars tracks during Labor Day weekend, while learning the core values that are central to the College’s liberal arts education. They will share in moments of adventure, discussion, exploration and service, helping them dive into life as a Cardinal.
This year, you can tag along with students through an Instagram Takeover Friday, Sept. 4, through Monday, Sept. 7. Participants with the Media and Communications Cardinal Camp will go on a walking tour of publications like the Chicago Tribune, The Onion, Chicago Sun-Times and more. You can follow along as they visit the Museum of Broadcasting Communications and Printers Row, volunteer at the Magnificent Mile Chicago Women’s Half Marathon, and document their trip through photos and video for a group project upon their return.
To join in on the fun of their experience, follow @NorthCentralCollege on Instagram, where graduate assistant Stephanie Snyder ’15 will document pinnacle moments of the Media and Communications Camp in Chicago.
Students, staff and faculty taking part in the Cardinal Camps are invited to share photos using the #CardinalCamps hashtag for a chance to be featured on the College’s Instagram page. It’s a great day to be a Cardinal!
