Meghan Pickett earns Outstanding Major in Psychology Award

Meghan Pickett ’15, daughter of Lawrence and Julie Pickett of Macomb, was awarded the Outstanding Major in Psychology Award during Honors Day in May at North Central College.
Meghan graduated in June from North Central College with a major in psychology and minor in leadership. She is a graduate of Macomb High School.
At North Central, Meghan was a member of the Blue Key Honors Society, the psychology honors society Psi Chi and president of the Honors Student Organization. Meghan also served as a peer career counselor and peer health educator with the College’s Dyson Wellness Center.
She was a member of the College Scholars Honors Program and her name regularly appeared on the Dean’s List of scholars.
Meghan received a Richter Grant from North Central to conduct research in Scotland. Her research culminated in a manuscript that was published in the prestigious student journal, “NCUR Proceedings.” She conducted similar research in the United States to produce a cross-cultural comparison for her College Scholars Honors Thesis. Meghan has presented her research at six different regional and national research conferences.
Meghan was accepted to the nationally recognized Ph.D. program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
