Taeopae Wetterman earns Outstanding Major in Athletic Training Award

Taeopae Wetterman ’15, daughter of Steven and Cindy Wetterman of Bartlett, was awarded the Outstanding Major in Athletic Training Award during Honors Day in May at North Central College.

Taeopae graduated from North Central in June, majoring in athletic training with a minor in psychology. She is a graduate of Bartlett High School.

At North Central, Taeopae served as an Orientation staff leader, a First-Year Mentor and an academic tutor through the EDGE study-assistance program. She also was a member of the athlete mentor programs on campus, the women’s track and field team and the National College Athlete Honor Society. Her name appeared regularly on the Dean’s List of scholars.

Taeopae was appointed by the athletic training faculty and staff to represent North Central College on the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association Student Congress and was chosen by her peers to the Student Congress to serve as its public relations chair.

Her volunteer activities include serving as a Special Olympics gymnastics peer coach at Elite Stars Athletics and as a medical volunteer at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. She was a member of the College Bowl Team at the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association Annual Meeting. 

She completed an internship with Cadence Orthopedic Physicians. Taeopae passed the national certification exam and plans to pursue a career in athletic training.
