Ten faculty receive promotions, tenure

At its May 2016 meeting, the North Central College Board of Trustees granted tenure and approved promotions to several faculty members effective with the start of the 2016-2017 academic year in September. These faculty are:

Martha Bohrer, Ph.D., was promoted to professor of English

Suzanne Chod, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of political science

Kristin Geraty, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of sociology

Perry Hamalis, Ph.D., Cecelia Schneller Mueller Professor of Religion, was promoted to professor of religious studies

Katherine Heller, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of mathematics

Jeff Jankowski, Ph.D., was promoted to professor of chemistry

Jonathon Kirk, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of music

Neil Nicholson, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate proessor of mathematics

Mary Beth Ressler, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of education

John Stanley was promoted to associate professor of communication

The Board also approved emerita status for Sara Eaton, Ph.D., professor of English, and emeritus status for Timothy Morris, Ph.D., professor of philosophy. Both will be formally awarded the emerita/us status at North Central’s 151st Commencement on June 11.
