Transfer information session on May 24 to discuss guaranteed admission agreements

May 15, 2019

Agreements designed to strengthen relationship with local community colleges and provide a more obvious pathway for transfer students

North Central College will host an information session on Friday, May 24 for prospective transfer students interested in learning more about the College’s undergraduate degree programs.

Transfer students can hear about how and when to apply, signing up for financial aid, applying for scholarships, choosing their classes, transferring credits, and everything else the College has to offer. Student ambassadors will be leading walking tours of campus.

Students will also learn all about our new guaranteed admission agreements. North Central has entered into new partnerships with three area community colleges—Waubonsee Community College, McHenry County College and Elgin Community College—to add to our existing relationship with the College of Lake County. These schools will transfer students directly into North Central upon the completion of a set of criteria, while the College provides resources like course substitution guides, major/minor planning sheets, and degree maps that help outline preferred courses to take prior to enrollment.

A limited number of unofficial transcript evaluations and on-the-spot admission decisions are available during the sessions on a first-come, first served basis. If you are interested, please notify the admission counselor at check-in and bring a completed application and/or all your transcripts.

The program begins at 9:30 a.m. in Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St., with walking tours beginning at 10:45 a.m. and evaluations at 12:00 p.m.
