Presidential Search Update - 10/26/22

Dear Campus Community,

Greetings and I hope you are having a wonderful fall semester! I’m adding this message to the ongoing series of updates intended to keep you informed about the work of the Presidential Search Committee. I’m very pleased to tell you that the search is progressing well, and it remains on schedule. 

The committee members met recently to receive an update from our partners at Storbeck Search, discuss our progress, and to initiate the careful review of applications. This initial review, the first of several stages in the candidate vetting process, will continue throughout the fall and winter. 

As the Search Committee begins its confidential review of applications, I am grateful for the important role you have all played in this process. The Presidential Search Prospectus, a valuable tool we are using to solicit nominations and recruit candidates nationally, is the direct result of your participation in the campus forums and completion of the stakeholder survey. All candidates are being evaluated against the Prospectus, which provides the rubric for what the campus community is seeking in the 11th president.

While we are reviewing applications, the multi-pronged process of building a strong and diverse pool of well-qualified candidates is ongoing.  You can still help in identifying promising prospects or people who might be able to suggest such prospects. Please reach out to our consulting team, Julie Tea (j.tea@storbecksearch.com) and Kate Phillips (k.phillips@storbecksearch.com), with names and contact information related to any potential candidates. The nominations and suggestions that we receive from those closest to the North Central community may be among the most meaningful in the process of candidate generation. 

The committee members will meet again in late November to begin reducing the pool of applicants to a smaller group for initial interviews and further evaluation.
