Rick Spencer arrived at North Central College in 1981 as Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. He led the admissions/financial aid staff for 11 years. In 1983 he was named Vice President for Admissions and Financial Aid. For two years he served as Vice President for Enrollment Management, taking on additional responsibilities in the student affairs office, which reported to him.
In 1992, Spencer was appointed Vice President for Institutional Advancement. He continues in that position today, managing a team of approximately 50 people in the areas of development, alumni relations, corporate relations, marketing and communications, fine arts outreach, and conference services and summer camps. His top leadership team consists of Jim Godo ‘93, Assistant Vice President for External Affairs and Special Assistant to the President, and Adrian Aldrich ‘02, Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations.
Spencer is a native of Naperville, Illinois, where both his parents, Wes ’43 and Marian ’43 Spencer, attended North Central College. He and his wife, Patricia, raised their sons Bradley ‘04 and Tyke ‘06 in Naperville, where they attended Naperville Central High School before graduating from North Central College.
