Education and Health Sciences Dean Search

North Central College seeks a new Dean for the School of Education and Health Sciences. 

We are looking for a visionary and innovative leader with exceptionally strong program and talent development skills to help strengthen current undergraduate and graduate programs while growing a variety of new, primarily graduate programs, particularly in health and wellness areas.

Along with the other newly reorganized academic units—the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Entrepreneurship, and the School of Graduate and Professional Studies—the School of Education and Health Sciences is in its second year. The retirement of our inaugural dean has opened up this exceptional leadership opportunity. The School has Bachelors and Masters programs and is actively exploring the option of selected doctoral programs.

The Dean of the School of Education and Health Sciences is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, reviewing and administering all the programs in the school, providing oversight to the chairs of the Departments of Education and Kinesiology; the Director of the new Master of Occupational Therapy program; and the Director of the Urban Education Lab. The dean will also ensure the maintenance of all accreditations and provide oversight for the CAEP accreditation project.

The School of Education and Health Sciences enjoys outstanding support from the community, including an engaged group of alumni. The Dean serves as the primary advocate and liaison for the School of Education and Health Sciences faculty in matters of curriculum, policy, program development and resource allocation. The Dean reports directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The planned start date for the position is July 2018.
