North Central College Partners with TimelyMD to Give You Students Care

In addition to the continued services from the Dyson Wellness Center (DWC), North Central College is excited to offer a new telehealth program for students this fall called Students Care. The service will provide access to 24/7 mental health and medical telehealth services to registered, full-time students, with no cost at the time of visit!

Whether you're feeling sick or overwhelmed, you will be able to talk to a licensed provider from your smartphone or any other web-enabled device. Licensed providers are available to diagnose non-emergent conditions, prescribe medications, and offer mental health support via phone or secure video visits. Below is important information about Students Care.

What services are available?

There are three services available 24/7 to students:

  • Medical: on-demand access to a medical provider that can treat a wide range of common illnesses like cold and flu, sinus infection, allergies and more
  • TalkNow: on-demand access to a mental health professional to talk about anything at anytime
  • Scheduled Counseling: scheduled options to speak to a licensed counselor (six times per academic year, per student)

Who can use Students Care?

Any full-time registered North Central College student. 

How can students access Students Care?

Students can go to www.students.care to register and access telehealth services. Students can access telehealth services from any web-enabled device- smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. From there, students can register with their school email address, and then they will be able to log in to begin using services. Students can then choose to have a voice or video call. 

How much does a visit cost?

There is no visit cost for North Central College students. 

Can Students Care Services diagnose COVID-19?

Students Care will virtually assess symptoms and administer frontline care in a contained environment to limit the spread of the illness. They will also give recommendations on need for testing vs. self-quarantine, and where to go if testing or further care is needed.

Who are TimelyMD's providers?

TimelyMD's Medical Providers are:

  • Recruited based on a passion for student health.
  • Verified (NPDB) and civil background check.
  • Trained by completing series of modules through our LMS: student health, modern college students, website manner, etc.
  • Experienced - providers must complete test visits prior to seeing patients.
  • Care approach regularly reviewed through our healthcare quality control meetings.

TimelyMD Mental Health Providers are Trained to:

  • Assess students' well being.
  • Utilize safety planning and manage crisis situations.
  • Provide empathetic listening for emotional support.
  • Develop a positive plan.
  • Refer students to resources for follow-up.

Provider Diversity

  • 39% of our mental health providers are Professionals of Color.
  • 84% of our mental health providers are female.
  • 39% of our medical providers are Professionals of Color.
  • 49% of our medical providers are female.
  • Able to accommodate English and Spanish on all services.
