Dr. Christine Chansamone (Pronouns: She/They/Them) completed their Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Washington University in St. Louis and received a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Music Histories at Syracuse University. She then completed residency training through SLU-SSM Health Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency Program. She served as a lab instructor in musculoskeletal, neurological, and professional issues courses and volunteered at the pro bono clinic at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, prior to becoming a professor at NCC DPT. She has also served as co-chair to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force for the Missouri APTA, and as a mentor in the BIPOC Alumni to Student Mentorship Program at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests include diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, burnout in healthcare, student mental health and healthcare disparities.

Outside of the classroom, Christine is a cycling, hockey, and martial arts enthusiast who also enjoys dabbling in creative pursuits such as music, creative writing and woodworking. Ever the curious adventurer, you will never find her sitting still for too long. She spent her formative years in coastal southern California and has lived in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Virginia, New York, and Massachusetts during her schooling and career pursuits. She currently resides in Naperville, IL with her wife, dog and cat. When not teaching she is using her entrepreneurial spirit to think about new and different ways to provide physical therapy, and other services.

"'If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again.' - Aaliyah. These are words I've lived by since the 7th grade, and they have not failed me yet. I am excited and honored to help educate the next generation of physical therapists and hope to instill in our students a dedication to their own personal/profession growth and a commitment to honoring the human experience in all of its forms."
