Mystery, love, comedy, and spirituality come together in this novel concert of British and American music. In Sir Edward Elgar's intriguing Enigma Variations, you'll hear an opening theme followed by 14 variations representing 13 unnamed people and a bulldog. Our chorus will join the orchestra in British songs that include Elgar's romantic Spanish Serenade, selections from W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan's comic love story The Mikado, and John Rutter's jubilant Te Deum hymn. And we'll bring you American Florence Price's Concert Overture 2, based on the spirituals Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen, Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit, and Go Down, Moses.
