North Central College, Anderson’s Bookshops host Bernie Sanders

Oct 17, 2016

North Central College and Anderson’s Bookshop hosted U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) at a Nov. 18 presentation here featuring his new book “Our Revolution.” The book documents Sanders’ recent experience as a candidate for the U.S. presidency, which launched a progressive movement across the nation. The cohosted event will take place at North Central College.

In his book to be released Nov. 15, Sanders documents his experiences on the presidential campaign trail and outlines a progressive economic, environmental, racial, and social justice agenda for creating jobs, raising wages, protecting the environment and providing health care for all. For Sanders, the political revolution has just started.

“Welcoming Senator Sanders on campus offers our students and the Naperville community with an enriching opportunity made possible through our longstanding partnership with Anderson’s Bookshop,” said Dr. Troy D. Hammond, president of North Central College.

“It’s historic to host such an impassioned figure in our country’s current political life,” said Becky Anderson, an owner of Anderson’s Bookshops. “Thanks to our standing with major publishers, like Macmillan, Anderson’s Bookshops are known for hosting major author events. But to have Senator Sanders, just off 2016’s hard-fought campaign season, is such an honor. We are so pleased to have a partner in North Central College to make this ambitious program possible.”
