Get to Know the Office of Residence Life
Sep 02, 2025
Between August 13th and 15th, Residence Life welcomed our largest incoming class. 459 new First Year and Transfer students joined by 14 new Graduate students moved into our Residence Halls over the several days of Move-In. A huge thank you to all the volunteers from our athletic teams, various campus offices, faculty, and some student organizations for helping students and families get settled into their rooms. Residents attended floor meetings, met their RAs, and connected with those they will be living with.
We hosted GlowFest to kickoff Res Life’s year! We had 164 people attend our first event and hope to set the tone for the bright year ahead. Resident can expect events hosted by their RAs, Area Hall Directors, and other Res Life staff. Follow us on Instagram at nccreslife to stay up to date on everything that Res Life will be doing this year!
Each year we receive questions regarding singles and room changes. If your student would like a change, they will need to complete a waitlist request form through our online portal, eRezLife (noctrl.erezlife.com). Filling out the form is not a guarantee that they will be moved. If your student is experiencing a roommate conflict, please encourage your student to contact their RA or Area Hall Director. Our staff is there to help residents communicate and develop better living situations. Please have your student reach out to us if they need any other assistance with relationships with other residents, facility concerns, or connecting to campus resources. Our RAs and full-time staff are more than happy to help in any way.
Even though we just moved in, it is never too early to start thinking about the housing re-application process! Current students will soon be able to view and submit their housing application for the 2026-2027 school year. Further information on the re-application process, roommate groups, and the lottery will be provided to students via email in the near future. Additional notice of this process will be posted on ResLife social media and the ResLife Hub webpage. Residents who do not apply by the deadline may not be assigned housing until Summer. Students with outstanding conduct sanctions may not be permitted to reclaim or participate in the housing lottery unless they complete those sanctions before the deadline.
