Did you know that North Central College is affiliated with two ROTC Programs - the Army ROTC Rolling Thunder Battalion (housed at Wheaton College) and the Air Force ROTC Detachment 195 (housed at University of Chicago).    ROTC Cadets are full-time students at NC and also take one military ROTC course each semester.   Upon graduation and completion of the ROTC program, cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants in the Air Force or Army ROTC.

If your student will graduate in 2028 or 2029* and has any interest, more information is available at www.noctrl.edu/ROTC and an important first step is for them to express interest directly to the ROTC program.  They can ask the program about scholarship opportunities, eligibility criteria and service requirements - and, importantly, students may try ROTC for a semester or year without committing to serving.

If your student would like to talk to one of our NC cadets, please have them contact Julie Carballo, Assistant Dean of Students for First-gen & Military-Affiliated Initiatives at ROTC@noctrl.edu.

*Students must have 3 years remaining until graduation to begin in the ROTC program.
