ROTC Program Update | Spring 2026

North Central College is proud to support nine ROTC cadets this spring, including six Army and three Air Force students. These cadets demonstrate exceptional commitment as they balance military coursework with leadership training and military preparation. This semester, we are especially excited to celebrate two Army cadets who will commission as officers on May 11, marking an important milestone in their service journey.

Our ROTC students benefit from individualized mentorship and strong campus partnerships. As a liaison to both Army and Air Force ROTC programs, our office collaborates regularly with cadre to ensure cadets are supported academically and personally. Opportunities like the annual Cadet Lunch with the President provide meaningful connection and recognition of their leadership and contributions.

We also continue to meet with prospective cadets and their families, including current NC students interested in ROTC.  North Central remains committed to fostering an environment where cadets can connect, engage, and thrive as students and future military leaders.  We are affiliated with the Army ROTC Rolling Thunder Battalion and the Air Force ROTC Detachment 195.  More info at www.noctrl.edu/ROTC.

Student Veteran Update | Spring 2026

This spring, we are proud to have 28 student veterans who bring leadership, life experience, and a strong sense of purpose to our campus community. With an average age of 35, these students enrich the classroom and contribute meaningfully across campus.

Student veterans are supported through individualized mentorship, a dedicated Veteran Success Team with designated points of contact in offices/programs across campus, and opportunities for connection such as monthly Veterans Lunches in the Veterans Center. These gatherings provide a welcoming space for peer support and community building. The Student Veterans Alliance (SVA) further strengthens engagement through student-led initiatives.

A highlight of this semester is the annual Hail & Farewell Banquet on April 23, where we celebrate graduating student veterans, welcome new student veterans, and honor three inductees into the SALUTE National Veterans Honor Society. Families and supporters are invited to share in this meaningful recognition.

Through these efforts, North Central fosters a strong sense of belonging and ensures student veterans are supported in achieving both academic and personal goals.
