Housing Assignment & Contacting your Assigned Roommate

Welcome Home! We are very excited that you have decided to join the Cardinal family and to live on campus at North Central College. Living in the residence halls will, without a doubt, enhance your college experience. You will make life-long friends, enjoy opportunities to learn outside of the classroom, and gain the life skills and responsibility needed to eventually live on your own.

As has been true in recent years, we expect that our first-year residence halls will be nearly 100% full. With almost 1,500 residential students living on campus, this fall will definitely be an exciting time at North Central College. Move-in for all new, residential international students will be on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 (arrival day). Important details about move-in day will be shared at the virtual Pre-Arrival Information Session for admitted students in July. The Center for Global Education will be there to help you settle in, and following move-in will be a new international student orientation beginning on Wednesday, August 14, 2024!

Before you arrive, consider contacting your assigned roommate. You can access your assigned roommate’s name(s) and contact information in the eRezLife portal and we encourage you to reach out to him/her! You may want to remind your roommate that as an international student you will not be able to bring big items such as a television, micro-fridge, etc. In addition to using the information we have provided as a way of getting in touch with your roommate, you may also check to see if he/she is on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok.

Packing

Packing for college can be overwhelming, but we're here to help; check out a thorough packing list here! Please note that North Central College furnishes each room with a bed, mattress, desk, chair and dresser, but it is the student's responsibility to provide everything else.

Eating on Campus

As a resident student, you will have the opportunity to select your dinning plan when completing your housing application. Each semester you will have the option of changing your meal plan to best suit your eating needs. To request a meal plan change, you must email Residence Life prior to 12 PM Friday of the first week of the semester.
