Residence Life Updates for Holiday Breaks

Thanksgiving Break

The buildings are going to be open over Thanksgiving Break, students can stay on campus if they need to. Dining locations will be closed over the break with the last meal being lunch on Wednesday, November 26 and will resume with brunch on Sunday, November 30.

Winter Break

The residence halls will be closed except for students who obtain specific permission to stay over the break. Students will be required to leave the residence halls within 24 hours of their last final or by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11 (whichever is soonest). The last meal will be a light dinner on Thursday, December 11 at Kaufman. Students will not have access to their rooms until the buildings open again for the Spring Semester. The halls will reopen on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Please make appropriate plans for leaving and returning to North Central over Winter Break. 

In some cases, students can be approved to stay over the break. The following situations will be considered for approval: student athletes required to travel with their team, students employed at an on-campus job, international students, and anyone who is not able to travel home without significant hardship. To request to stay for any part of the break, there will be a form students will need to complete in late November / early December. Completing the form does not guarantee approval.
