Internationally acclaimed pianist Jooeun Pak presents an evening devoted to three of the piano repertoire’s most iconic sonatas. The program highlights the form’s evolution across the Classical and Romantic eras: Haydn’s radiant Sonata in C Major, Hob. XVI:50, Beethoven’s dramatic and beloved “Pathétique” Sonata, Op. 13, and Schubert’s monumental “Wanderer Fantasy,” often regarded as a sonata in disguise. Praised as a “profoundly musical artist with poetic temperament and exceptionally expressive gifts,” Pak has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician across the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, including performances at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, the Kennedy Center, Ravinia, and international festivals from Italy to Jordan. A dedicated advocate of both traditional and contemporary repertoire, she has collaborated with leading composers of our time while also inspiring audiences with masterful interpretations of the great classics. This recital offers listeners the chance to experience Pak’s artistry in a program that traces the expressive range, structural brilliance, and enduring power of the piano sonata.
*Please note this performance will take place on November 1, a date change from the previously publicized October 31.
