Profile Picture

Bonnie McLean, PhD (she/hers) is a halftime senior lecturer in English at North Central College. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and History from Andrews University (2009), a Masters in English from Western Michigan University (2011), and a PhD in English Literature from Marquette University (2015). Her current research seeks to examine White fragility in dystopian and apocalyptic texts, particularly after 9/11. She also researches pedagogical methods for final exam assessments and alternatives, as well as supervising group projects in the synchronous and asynchronous classrooms. 

When not teaching, you can find her in a bookstore, playing a board game, or sipping a freshly-brewed cup of herbal tea.
