Christine Schauerte, PT, DPT is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Clinical Education in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at North Central College. Dr. Christine Schauerte completed her MSPT at Washington University in St. Louis in 1997, followed by her post-professional DPT in 2005, also at Washington University. She was recognized as a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2011. She then completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand graduating with Honors in 2013. She followed up her New Zealand specialization in manual therapy by completing the University of Illinois at Chicago Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Fellowship and was recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists in 2015. Dr. Schauerte brings experience in academic and clinical education at the DPT, residency, and fellowship levels, with a focus in orthopaedics. Her research interests currently include the intersection of musculoskeletal and metabolic health, health promotion in diabetes, and clinical education.
Outside of the classroom, Chris is an avid gardener, vintage treasure hunter and big Bears fan. She loves to travel, play mahjong, and cook healthy food for loved ones. She lives in the Northwest suburbs with her husband, teenage son and adorable Australian labradoodle Salty.
