Dr. Kay O'Donnell has been teaching journalism and media studies since 2002. During that time, she also has served as student media advisor for a variety of student news platforms including print, online, digital and social. Under her direction, the student media organizations have won several national awards -- including online news awards from College Media Association and Editor & Publisher -- and dozens of state awards.

For more than 20 years, Dr. O'Donnell worked as an editor, writer and designer for several media organizations including The (New Orleans, La.) Times-Picayune, The (San Antonio, Texas) Express-News, and The (Lafayette, La.) Daily Advertiser.
