The summer semester gives you the opportunity to stay on track or get ahead in your degree program. For those wishing to graduate early, summer courses let you cross off required classes ahead of time.


Continued and Concentrated Learning

Stay in the groove of studying and attending class with summer course work. Complete prerequisite classes during the summer that allows you to register for more advanced classes during the next academic year. Summer school is your chance to stay on track or get ahead in your degree program, focus on a challenging course when you have more time, or to simply explore a topic of interest. Class offerings include courses that commonly fulfill general education requirements, provide opportunities for personal enrichment, and explore current events through course discussions.

Enroll in courses starting at one of these entry points: May 6, May 28, and July 2. 

  • May Semester: May 6 - May 24
  • Full Summer: May 28 -  August 2
  • Session I: May 28 - June 28
  • Session II: July 2 - August 1

North Central students: $530 per credit hour; Visiting students: $530 per credit hour.


How to Apply

Visiting Students

If you are a non-North Central College student, please complete and submit your summer school application by the respective deadline.

  • Application deadline to start May 6 is April 22

  • Application deadline to start May 28 is May 13

  • Application deadline to start July 2 is June 17

  1. Complete the Application for Non-Degree-Seeking Admission and email it to grad@noctrl.edu
  2. Submit official transcripts from your current undergraduate institution to: School of Graduate and Professional Studies, 30 N. Brainard St., Naperville, IL 60540.
  3. Accepted summer school students are required to pay a $100 tuition deposit to confirm your intent to enroll. This deposit will be credited toward your summer tuition statement.

Current North Central Students

  • If you are a North Central College undergraduate student, you should first contact your academic advisor to discuss your degree requirements.
  • You can then register for your summer courses through Merlin.
