Profile Picture

Jacey Keeney, Ph.D. is a post-doctoral fellow at True North Clinical Associates in Naperville and Downers Grove, Illinois. She attended North Central College (B.A., Mathematics; B.S., Psychology) and earned his M.S. degree (2015) and Ph.D. (2019) in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology specialization from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. She specializes in the treatment of disordered eating in athletes and mood and anxiety disorders in children, adolescents, and emerging adults. 

Dr. Keeney is a Half-Time Professor in the Psychology Department at North Central College, in Naperville, Illinois. She teaches Psychology: Science of Behavior, Child Development, Psychology of Adolescence, Stress and Coping, Abnormal Psychology, Child Psychopathology, Clinical Psychology, and Health Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Princeton University Medical Center in Princeton, New Jersey. She is currently fulfilling her post-doctoral requirements for licensure at True North Clinical Associates, under the supervision of Dr. Paul Mullen. 

Dr. Keeney also conducts and supervises undergraduate research at North Central College. Her research interests focus on the relationship between mood, eating, and physical activity, understanding the eating and physical activity behaviors of collegiate and professional athletes, and identifying the principle motives for physical activity.  Her current research projects examine the changes in physical activity during the first year of college among former high school athletes and former high school non-athletes, influence of physical activity on food cravings and body image, and the extent to which mental health is assessed in high school sport physicals.
