Dr. Shan-Ju Chiang is the Department Chair of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering. She is an engineer whose research, teaching, and consulting focus on the batteries and advanced ceramics, specifically the solid-state batteries and ceramic-based flexible electrolyte for both Li-ion and Na-ion batteries.
Prior to North Central College, Shan-Ju was a consultant and R&D Engineer at NanoGraf Technologies in Chicago- an innovative batter company which has been awarded a $60 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. Shan-Ju's experience in industry spans research topics from the lab to the contemporary world substantively. She is committed to make North Central College a national model for equity and excellence in engineering!
