Outstanding Alumni Awards

The Outstanding Alumni Awards are presented annually to one or more alumni who have excelled in their careers and demonstrated service to the community and North Central College. The first award recipient was Bishop John Stamm, Class of 1909, in 1954.

Outstanding Alumni Award

The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes distinguished graduates of North Central College whose professional achievements, personal successes, and community impact exemplify excellence. Presented to alumni more than 15 years after graduation, this honor celebrates individuals whose sustained accomplishments and leadership bring distinction to the College.

Award Criteria

  • Be a graduate of North Central College who completed their degree more than 15 years ago.
  • Demonstrated excellence and distinction in their career/profession, including notable accomplishments, leadership roles, recognition, or advancement.
  • A strong record of service and involvement in civic, cultural, charitable, or community activities that have made a meaningful impact.
  • Maintain a strong connection to North Central College through engagement with the institution, support of its mission, participation in alumni activities, or contributions that benefit the College.

Through this award, North Central College proudly honors alumni whose lives and careers embody the mission, spirit, and enduring legacy of the institution.

Alumni Recognition Award

The Alumni Recognition Award celebrates young alumni of North Central College who are making an extraordinary impact early in their professional and personal journeys. This honor recognizes graduates within 15 years of earning their degree who demonstrate excellence in their careers, meaningful service to their communities, and continued dedication to the College.

Award Criteria

  • Be graduates of North Central College within the past 15 years.
  • Have already achieved notable success and distinction in their chosen field.
  • Demonstrate leadership and meaningful involvement in civic, cultural, charitable, or community service activities.
  • Maintain a strong connection to North Central College through engagement with the institution, support of its mission, participation in alumni activities, or contributions that benefit the College.

Through this award, North Central College recognizes alumni who embody the College’s mission and values while making a lasting difference in their professions and communities.

Cardinal Pride Award

This award honors an alumnus/a or friend who demonstrates exceptional pride, dedication, and enthusiasm for the College through involvement, advocacy, and support. The award symbolizes the recipient's love of and devotion to the ideals and people of the institution and the nurturing of the Cardinal spirit in all of us.

Award Criteria

  • School Pride & Involvement – Actively participating in college events, traditions, and initiatives while encouraging others to engage in campus life.
  • Leadership & Influence – Serving as a positive role model who inspires enthusiasm, inclusivity, and involvement.
  • Positive Attitude & Sportsmanship – Demonstrating respect, encouragement, and good sportsmanship within the campus community.
  • Contribution to Campus Culture – Helping foster a welcoming, inclusive environment and strengthening college traditions.
  • Volunteerism & Community Impact – Giving time and effort to support campus initiatives, service projects, or fundraising efforts that benefit the college and community.

Through this award, North Central College recognizes alumni or friends who demonstrate a strong connection to and support for the campus community and actively participate in alumni or college-related events

Wall of Witness Award

Established in 2006, the Wall of Witness Award honors alumni whose lives and work reflect the mission, values, and heritage of North Central College and the Evangelical Theological Seminary. Recipients embody a deep commitment to principled leadership, justice, and service through their professional work, ministry, or community involvement.

Award Criteria

  • Demonstrates a life and career that reflect the mission and heritage of North Central College or Evangelical Theological Seminary, including integrity, faith-informed leadership, and ethical decision-making.
  • Shows a sustained dedication to advancing justice, compassion, and service to others, particularly in ways that uplift individuals or communities
  • Has made meaningful contributions through professional work, ministry, volunteer service, advocacy, or community engagement that have created positive change.
  • Serve as an example of the mission and values of North Central College or Evangelical Theological Seminary

Nominees must be alumni of North Central College or Evangelical Theological Seminary. Through this award, North Central College recognizes alumni whose lives and work reflect the institution’s longstanding commitment to leadership, justice, and service.
