Immunizations and Health Insurance

Immunization Requirements

All new students are required to complete the Immunization Form (see dates below).  No physical exam is required to attend North Central College. If the immunization information is not complete, a medical hold will be placed on your account two weeks after the first day of classes of your starting term. This means that you cannot add a class or register for the next semester.

Illinois State Law mandates that all students entering a post-secondary institution, born after 1956, must provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria and tetanus.

Health Insurance

Federal regulations require that all J-1 exchange students demonstrate proof of health insurance coverage during their studies in the United States. North Central College requires that ALL international students and their dependents provide proof of coverage throughout their academic program. Beginning in Fall 2020, all international students will be required to enroll in North Central's Geoblue Insurance.

All international students must sign up for a policy through Geoblue Insurance prior to arrival and throughout the duration of your academic program. This plan is designed for and open to all international students enrolled at North Central College; rates start at only $123 per month. Healthcare is extremely expensive in the United States, please make sure you are insured prior to departing your home country.

Degree seeking students can sign up for yearly policies. It is important that you do not fall out of coverage as you will re-start the pre-existing condition waiting period. More information on healthcare and insurance will be provided during the first week orientation.

Note: International student athletes who will be participating in intercollegiate sports will need to purchase an additional insurance policy as well. Contact your coach for details.
