Encourage your Student to “Go Away” (Study Abroad)
North Central College has 36 study abroad program options in 21+ difference countries. Students can study abroad for a semester, an academic year, and/or participate in a Cardinal Destination Course Abroad (CDCA), a short-term (2-3 weeks) faculty-led course during May Term. Please find the Study Abroad Brochure here for more information. As a note, May Term 2027 opportunities will be available on the CDCA website soon.
As a first step in the process, students can schedule a (student-only) study abroad advising appointment with a study abroad advisor using this link.
Upcoming Study Abroad Deadlines
Students looking to study abroad the spring 2027 semester, should meet with a study abroad advisor and submit their online application by May 1, 2026.
Announcing Cardinal Destination Courses Abroad for May Term 2027!
The Center for Global Education is excited to announce the nine (9) courses/destinations for May Term 2027: China & Japan, England & Netherlands, Greece & Italy, Iceland, Ireland, Peru, Scotland, South Korea, and Spain! Interested students will be able to add these opportunities to their spring 2027 semester schedule on Merlin, and will need to enroll in the course by November 1, 2026. More information, including itineraries, cost, course topic, etc., will be available on the Cardinal Destination Course Abroad website soon!
Study Abroad Scholarship Opportunities
Students studying abroad on a semester-long program are eligible to maintain their NC financial aid package. While study abroad is accessible and affordable, we encourage all students to apply for additional scholarships (listed here), both internally and externally. Additionally, a more comprehensive cost estimate is provided to students during a one-on-one study abroad advising appointment.
