Academics
Students are required to complete GLS 277 in the spring term prior to studying abroad in the fall.
Students earn between 9-12 credits for classes depending on courses selected. All grades earned abroad affect students North Central College GPA when transferred back. Students cannot take courses pass/fail.
Note: Students must have courses pre-approved by North Central College prior to taking them abroad. If students change their course schedules while abroad, they must get this change approved. Some departments only permit students to take a certain number of courses that count toward their major abroad; by getting all courses pre-approved, this ensures that these courses will count towards their degrees.
Housing and Meals
All North Central College students live in University of Limerick on-campus residences; most of our students live in Kilmurry Village. Kilmurry Village is a co-ed complex of terraced houses in landscaped grounds, close to the Sports Arena and all of the sports facilities, and a short walk to classes. Individual houses have private single study bedrooms with a closet, desk, bed, sink, and internet connections. Students share two showers and toilets and a fully furnished kitchen/living room with 5-7 other students who are their "flatmates". There is a Village reception where you can request assistance or maintenance services and laundry facilities are in each Village as well.
For more information about Kilmurry Village and accommodation at University of Limerick, please click here.
Meals: not included in program fees. Students are responsible for preparing their own meals in a kitchen in their house that they share with the other "flat mates". There are a variety of places nearby to shop for groceries and a convenient and frequent bus service to downtown Limerick.
Students eat well on-campus at the University of Limerick. The University offers a wide choice of restaurants offering high quality, home cooked food at budget conscious prices.
