Justin Simbol ’20 / M ’24 studied business at North Central, both as an undergraduate and as a graduate student. While earning his MBA, his experience in the College’s Coffee Lab ignited a passion and paved a path toward starting his career with Dutch Bros. Coffee.

Jocelyn Trotter ‘27 followed up a successful first year as a student and athlete with a summer marketing internship at global software developer Contruent in Naperville.

Fredlyn Pierre Louis ‘23 made his debut on national television, presenting a two-part story for NBC Early Today on June 14 about the struggles of American families who have adopted children from Haiti to get the children to their new homes in the United States.

Macy Fleury ’26, an exercise science major and track athlete from Naperville, spent a week in Florida with a group from BREAKAWAY, a North Central student organization that hosts service trips all over the United States and abroad. The Al Carius and Frank Gramarosso Endowed Scholarship was established by alumni and friends of North Central College in honor of the two iconic coaches, mentors and teachers. Paige Runkle ’25, a sport management major from Mount Prospect, Ill., was recently named the first recipient of the scholarship.

On May 5, North Central College’s 159th Commencement brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, family and guests to celebrate in the College’s Residence Hall/Recreation Center. The Class of 2024 comprised 698 graduates — 535 bachelor's degree candidates and 163 master's candidates — representing 27 different states and 17 different countries and territories.

North Central Cardinal First continues to build on its reputation for its first-generation programming and student success with its 2024 Alumni Academy. The event helped celebrate 10 years since Cardinal First was founded.

North Central College’s student-run radio station, WONC FM 89.1, was nominated for 12 national 2024 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) awards, including Best College/University Radio Station among schools with fewer than 10,000 students.
