Dr. Ryder received her Ph.D. in Communication from Arizona State University in 2024, M.A. in Relational Communication from DePaul University in 2016, and B.A. in Communication & Media from DePaul University in 2014. Her research interests include romantic relationship development and communication through technology such as online dating and virtual reality. Her dissertation studied how current online dating users experience and navigate instances of misrepresentation (e.g., catfishing, lying, withholding information, etc.).
