Study Abroad in Germany

D-Term in Berlin

During D-term twenty NCC students took part in a 17-day D-term study-abroad program in Berlin, Germany. All participants flew together from Chicago's O'Hare airport and landed at Tegel in Berlin, and stayed at a comfortable hotel in the heart of Berlin near the world famous Kurfürstendamm shopping street. Each day students went on official excursions to learn and ex perie nce first-hand German history. Points of interest and sites included the Altstadt, Potsdamer Platz, the New Synagogue, official tours through the Reichstag and rotes Rathaus, visits in world class museums, and other interesting historical sites, such as air raid bunkers from World War II and an East German Stasi (secret police) prison. Students also had full-day excursions to Potsdam, the seat of the Prussian monarchy, and to the beautifully restored city, Dresden, the former seat of the monarchy of Saxony.

Germany from Luther to Present – Castles, Cathedrals and Culture

North Central College has made a firm commitment to ensuring that students, faculty, staff and the Naperville community develop knowledge and appreciation of cultural differences in both domestic and international settings. For students, an education at this institution includes a global dimension gained through proficiency-based language learning, course work, internships, person-to-person contacts, study abroad, and travel.

Study abroad can be a transforming experience!

North Central College provides many opportunities for students to study abroad through its own programs or through approved programs offered by other U.S. institutions. Students may choose to study for one term, two terms or a full year; summer programs are also available.

The College also offers 2-credit and 3-credit courses during December Term, between Thanksgiving and Christmas each year; many of these courses fulfill the All-College Requirement for intercultural study.
