Erica Johnson is a high jumper on North Central’s track and field team. She is also a high achiever in the classroom and beyond, taking advantage of many opportunities to get involved and gain valuable experience during her time on campus.

North Central College has announced the establishment of the Thomas J. Paleka ’83 and David E. Thomson Deanship in Business and Entrepreneurship. The endowed deanship – which is the first of its kind at the College – will expand funding for the academic leadership position in North Central’s School of Business and Entrepreneurship. A gap in knowledge about finance, banking, mortgages, budgeting, debt and taxes could have a lasting impact on today’s students as they navigate key decisions now and through adulthood. Concern about a lack of financial literacy, particularly among young people, has motivated Ryan Decker ’07, assistant professor of economics, to launch the Center for Financial Literacy at North Central College.

Wade The news site Politico sent shockwaves across the country in early May when it published what appeared to be an initial draft majority opinion — written by Justice Samuel Alito and reportedly circulated inside the court — suggesting that the U.S. Supreme Court intends to strike down Roe v. Wade. Chief Justice John Roberts confirmed the authenticity of the document in a statement but said it does not represent the court's final position.

Tatiana Sifri shared the importance of events like ‘Send Silence Packing’ More than 1,000 backpacks were laid out on North Central College’s Jefferson Lawn during National Suicide Prevention Month to help raise awareness about mental health struggles and suicide. Send Silence Packing is a traveling exhibit brought to college campuses around the country for the cause. The backpacks represent approximately the number of college students who take their lives each year, 1,100.
