You may not think of video gaming as a social activity; you might think it involves spending hours of time alone, ignoring the rest of the world. But that's not the case for North Central students. Here at the College, video game enthusiasts come together in an organization called NCC eSports, started by McLean Holmes ’18. The group started small, but just like your typical video game hero NCC eSports “leveled up” to more than 100 members in just over a year!

North Central College is pioneering the way it equips students of every major to learn what they need today—and how they will work tomorrow—through its new state-of-the-art Science Center opening March 27.

The proposed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will have a devastating impact on higher education institutions (including North Central College), their employees, students and families. The act includes a number of changes to the tax code that will significantly increase the cost of college and student debt.

Diego Mateo came to North Central College hoping to serve students in communities needing support for their schools. He majored in music education and found support through the challenges he faced as a first-generation, Latinx student. His rich, varied academic experience culminated with winning a national championship in forensics and serving as the student speaker at Commencement in 2023.

North Central College and Navistar, Inc. (“Navistar”) have forged a unique partnership to support the College’s undergraduate engineering program. The “Engineering in Education 4.0 Partnership” aims to equip students with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in today’s workplace through an integrated and hands-on educational experience. Navistar has committed a total of $750,000 over five years to be allocated primarily through scholarships for underrepresented engineering students and the creation of the North Central College’s new Navistar Integrated Manufacturing Center. 

Members of North Central College's Student Occupational Therapy Association designed and built a raised, accessible garden for Jenny Kray, whose physical limitations didn’t allow her to garden independently in her own backyard.
