Elias is earning his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and plans to open his own dental practice someday. He came to North Central College after serving five years in the United States Marine Corps. North Central provides veterans like Elias with academic support and networking opportunities, along with individualized attention from faculty and staff like Julie Carballo, who oversees Veteran and Military-Affiliated Student Services.

As I progressed through the biology department’s rigorous courses, I further developed my knowledge and confidence in my abilities as a scientist.
