Education Abroad

Our Center for Global Education makes it easy to incorporate an education abroad experience into a four-year plan for every major field of study. With more than 38 programs in 21+ countries around the world and open to all majors, you can choose the program that is best for you.

You may study abroad for one semester, a full year, or in a short-term Cardinal Destination Course Abroad (CDCA) during the May Term. Faculty and staff advise you throughout the process and help you develop a plan to ensure you will not incur significant unplanned expenses. For some major programs (e.g., Global Studies, Spanish) participation in an education abroad program is required.

You may also have the opportunity to intern, volunteer, conduct research, play a sport or instrument, or teach abroad. Through these experiences, you will connect with individuals who can develop your talent, enhance your intellectual and personal learning, and provide a new life perspective.

Go alone
Spend one semester or a whole year studying in places from Japan to Jordan, from Greece to Germany, from South Korea to Scotland.

Go with a group
Travel with your classmates and a favorite professor to exciting destinations, usually during May Term. And you can often get course credit while immersed in a fascinating new culture.

Go learn another language
In today's global economy, a second language gives you a career advantage while growing your understanding of the larger world.

You can also explore distant cultures by serving others. The Office of Faith & Action invites you to explore a service mission to help bring relief to the less fortunate corners of the world.

At North Central, we encourage you to take advantage of the rare opportunities offered by our Education Abroad program. Your cultural and social interactions will expand your understanding of today’s interconnected world. And you’ll return home with more than great memories. The experience will change your life.

Push Past Possible. Go Global.
